A piece by Girona artist Bonaventura Ansó, it was inaugurated on 14 October 2001, as part of the opening ceremony for Lloret de Mar’s millennium celebrations. The artist was inspired by the legend of Apollo and Daphne, the basis for the origins of the town of Lloret.
This set of sculptures was created with different types of materials; the pond was made from white marble and, at the bottom, you can see a staggered shape that symbolises the soft waves that wash over Lloret’s beach. The figure of Apollo is represented by the young person and, equally, by the figure of the Dolphin which, in the animal kingdom, symbolises the image of Apollo.
