Mart\u00ed Sureda designed our promenade down to exact measurements (no exaggeration), in an area of land reclaimed from the sea. At one end would be the Town Hall, built in 1872 and designed by architect F\u00e9lix de Az\u00faa; at the other, Casa Garriga, constructed in 1887.<\/p>\n
Between this house and the town hall lies a promenade filled with red sand and surrounded by palm trees, evoking the atmosphere of the American colonies. The sand\u2019s reddish colour comes from a combination of clay sand with a redbrick trecand\u00eds.
