Marvel at the striking contrast between the blue of the sky and the sea and the mountainous terrain."},{"nom_categoria":"Its history","contingut_categoria":"First records of the fort date back to 1041. Its construction was driven by the need to defend the town from enemies arriving by sea. Over the centuries, it lasted through numerous battles and even an earthquake in the 15th century that affected a large part of the Girona region.\r\n\r\nThe Battle of Trafalgar in the 19th century left the castle abandoned and in ruins.
