Zu dieser Zeit bestand ein Gro\u00dfteil der Stadt noch aus Weinbergen.\r\nDer Marquis beschloss, diese zu kaufen und konnte bald sieben dieser Weinberge sein Eigen nennen.\r\nUm seinen Traum der Gartengestaltung zu verwirklichen, kontaktierte er den Landschaftsarchitekten Nicolau Rubi\u00f3 i Tudur\u00ed, der das Projekt durchf\u00fchren sollte.\r\nIm Jahr 1919 wurde mit dem Bau der G\u00e4rten begonnen. Jedoch verstarb Clotilde 1927 in jungem Alter, ohne die Fertigstellung der G\u00e4rten mitzuerleben. Dieses Ereignis f\u00fchrte zum vor\u00fcbergehenden Stillstand des Projekts, bis der Marquis einige Zeit sp\u00e4ter Odile, seine zweite Frau, kennenlernte. Zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter wurden die Arbeiten an den G\u00e4rten erneut aufgenommen.\r\nDer Bau und die Gestaltung der G\u00e4rten endete erst mit dem Ende des spanischen B\u00fcrgerkriegs.
