Beach Management

Within the tourism sector, particularly in the Mediterranean region, beaches constitute a basic and major resource.

In addition to their natural attractions, beaches are expected to offer many other services; some to relieve human pressure on nature and others for beach users themselves, who increasingly demand better quality services. The first group of services includes the need to keep water and sand clean while the second group includes the provision of showers, drinks and snacks kiosks, assistance or life saving points, public telephones, water sports areas, beach equipment rental, properly maintained access points, nearby parking facilities, etc.

Lloret de Mar has received four blue flags. Blue Flag beaches are the beach of Lloret, Fenals beach, Cala Boadella and the beach of Santa Cristina.
