Lloret brimming over with life

Water, the symbol of life, is the essence of Lloret. This is because it is a seafaring town whose beaches cautives thousands of visitors with their cristal-clear water, coarse goleen sand and top quality services. Its beaches, coves an inlets make i tan ideal destination for relaxing and enjoying all kinds of activities.

Fire, the origin of traditions

From time imperial, fire has been a symbol of the passion that sparks traditions. In Lloret. This flame is lit for the main festivals of Santa Cristina and Sant Romà, with processions, regattas in llaguts (tradicional Catalan sailboats), association lunches, the Ball de Plaça, a tradicional dance held in the Main Square, and fireworks. And it is kept alight throughout the year with pilgrimages to chapels and shrines, gatherings, the performances of havaneres (sea shanties), tradicional dances, the carnaval, tirada a l’art (a tradicional fishing technique) and the meadiaeval market. A hole series of festival, customs and traditions have been passed down through generetions and constitute the town’s heritatge.

Gardens between heaven and earth

If the soul is inmortal and eternal, one of its most earthly manifestations is Santa Clotilde Gardens, which date back to the turn of the 20th century. This historical natural space is ideal for relaxing the mind and nourishing the spirit. The gardens were designed by the famous Barcelona architect Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí and commissioned by the Marquis of Roviralta. A beatiful combinations of stairways, fountains, little squares, mermaids and vantage points are set amongst a wonderful variety of Mediterranean trees and plants. An Italian influence  is clear to see in these gardens, which are situated in outstanding spot with impressive sea views.

 

Unspoiled nature

In Lloret, nature has found the ideal place to Express itself in its full splendour: amazing landscapes, sheer cliffs, beatiful coastal footpath and small inhospitable corners. The many signposted routes offer a unique opportunity to discover Lloret’s rich natural and cultural heritage in a calm and peaceful manner. One of the particulary outsanding features are the various coves and inlets that make up this wild and unspoiled coast, such as Cala d’en Trons, Sa Caleta, Cala Banys, Cala dels Frares, Sa Tortuga…

 

 

 

Night-time, the best time to move your body

It is night-time in Lloret and no end of experiences await your bosy and five senses. Trying your luck at the casino, enjoying a good concert on the beach, attending a show or popular festival in great company, or going for a gentle stroll along the moonlit seafront promenade.
